Working inpartnership with Barking and Dagenham council,the August African showcase event was one our most engaging,a very encouraging turn out and interaction of diverse cultures.
Over 30 stalls showcased African authentic produce, talking drummers, singers, South African poet, dancers from Angola, Ghana, Senegal, and Nigerian acrobats, food, fashion, music and more are descended on Barking Town Centre.
African Showcase market festival showcased the music and arts of Africa with fantastic workshops, paintings, artifacts and stunning hand made African jewellery on display.
For one day local shoppers and community were treated to a procession of acrobats and dancers, a fashion show displaying traditional and modern African dress and top Afro-hip-hop sensations.
There was also African dance workshops, teaching shoppers of all ages the art of African dance steps which includes a competition for the best dancers.
For children and adults African Showcase market will provide interactive and engaging entertainment delivered through clay moulding, oil painting, bead making and singing.
Ola Mustapha, of Kiskirine Events /African showcase - the managing founder said:
"The aim of the African Showcase market festival is to bring the African cultural experience closer to the public and celebrate diversity through commerce."
